Our Mission
We lead the way in providing financial aid to families that are facing a complex medical diagnosis or the loss of an infant or neonate. No family should not be able to seek medical help because of finances, and no family should come home with empty arms to a pile of medical bills.
The Marigold Foundation is a proud partner of the Wisconsin Grief Collective, a group of individuals and organizations across Wisconsin working together to support all who grieve. We also partner with other local non-profits to support bereaved parents.
Since 2019, we have been leading the way in providing financial help to families in Southwest Wisconsin who have recently experienced infant loss or who are seeking a life-saving treatment for a pregnant person or their baby. We pride ourselves on a quick application process and a quick response time so that families who are eligible for our grants receive help when they need it most.
Most of the families who apply for assistance live in Dane County or Rock County.
The Marigold Foundation was founded in 2019 by Zach and Helen Werner and has been growing ever since.
Out of the Madison area parents that were part of our 2019 survey, 100% of them had health insurance at the time of their loss. Despite this, the average cost of delivery was still $9,434.
Our Board of Directors works hard each year to carefully review all applications, fundraise to keep our coffers full, and provide outreach to local families.
We couldn’t do this without you! We depend on our volunteers, the people who attend our events, and our donors in order to further our mission and reach.
Our biggest event is our annual Summer Soirée. Click here to get more information about that event as well as many more!
Whether you’re familiar with social media, good at survey design, or want to help get ready for an event, we have a job for you!
Our generous donors help us provide grants to families in need. Whether it’s $5, $50, or $500, every penny helps.
